UIMT Continues Winning Streak

The U of I Mock Trial (UIMT) program competed in Champaign, Illinois January 21-22. Two teams were sent to the tournament and both placed in the top 8 out of 32 teams that attended. In addition to two top finishes, several members received individual awards for outstanding performances.


Junior Katy Kinney and senior Kelly Grogg captained team 1425 and finished in third place. Kinney was awarded an outstanding attorney award with a perfect score of 20. Freshman Amber Mahoney and sophomore Abby Simbro received outstanding witness awards.


Seniors Melissa Osman and Will Mattessich led team 1424 and finished in seventh place. Mattessich was the recipient of an outstanding attorney award. Junior Jacob Bogolia, also from team 1424, received an outstanding witness award with a perfect score of 20.


Teams 1424 and 1425 will be competing in New York next weekend at Cornell University in preparation for their regional tournament February 11-12.
